
Brittany Hedderson Named First-Team All-MAC

BUFFALO, NY – For the third straight season, the University at Buffalo women's basketball team will have a member on All-MAC First Team as it was announced on Tuesday morning that senior Brittany Hedderson was named to the five-member squad.
Hedderson had a career year for the Bulls as she finished second in the league in scoring at 20.4 points per game. She had four 30-point performances on the year, including a school record 39 points in a win over Oakland. She also added 31 points in her last collegiate game this past Saturday at Akron.
Hedderson will go down as second in school history in points for a season with 631, while her 1,169 minutes played this past year is first in school history. For her career, she will finish fourth in scoring (1,462), fourth in field goals (555), third in three point field goals (161) and eighth in assists (311). She ends her career as one of only two players in school history to record 1,400 points and 300 assists, joining Brenna Doty.
Twice this season, Hedderson was named MAC East Player of the Week and she led the Bulls in scoring in 26 of their 31 games. In all, she finished with 15 games of 20 points or more.
Hedderson is joined on the All-MAC First Team by Bowling Green's Alexis Rogers, Miami's Courtney Osborn, Ohio's Tenishia Benson and Eastern Michigan's Tavelyn James, who was named the MAC's Player of the Year.
The Bulls have now had three players named to the All-MAC First Team: Tiffany Bell (2000-01), Kourtney Brown (2009-10, 2010-11) and Brittany Hedderson (2011-12).
