Bulls Begin Coaches vs. Cancer Classic Play Against Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Buffalo men's basketball team will look to avoid its first 0-2 start since 2003 Monday night as it travels to Florida State to take on the Seminoles in the NABC Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. Both schools come into the game - the first meeting ever between the two - following losses in the season opener.
While the team is facing Florida State for the first time ever, the team has had success before against the ACC, defeating Miami (FL) on Nov. 18, 2006.
The Bulls are coming off a 57-53 loss to Princeton in the season opener on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Arena. Buffalo was led by Javon McCrea, who had 22 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots despite playing limited minutes in the first half due to foul trouble. Tony Watson was the only other Bull to reach double figures, scoring 10 points.
Florida State comes into tonight's game 0-1 after a 76-71 loss to South Alabama on Friday night in its home and season opener. The Seminoles were led by Terrance Shannon who scored 10 points and pulled down nine rebounds. The Seminoles went cold from long range against the Jaguars, making just five three pointers in 21 attempts. Standout shooter Michael Snaer was the focal point of the team's frustrations in the game, missing all six of his attempts to go with five turnovers. Last season, he was the team's hero late in the season, making headlines for his game-winning shots that helped the team win a loaded ACC tournament crown.
