
Bulls Fall In Regular Season Finale, 5-2

OXFORD, OH - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team completed the regular season on Saturday, falling to Miami, 5-2. The Bulls concluded the regular season as the seventh seed. Miami won the the regular season title outright with today's victory.
UB claimed one victory in doubles as the first team of Diana Popescu and Miranda Podlas defeated Megan Martzolf and Stephanie Danesis, 8-6. The RedHawks took victories at both second and third doubles.
In singles play, Miami took the matches at one through four, but Buffalo took victories at fifth and sixth singles. Sophomore Tamara Markovic defeated Riekie Honiball at fifth singles, 6-4, 6-4, while Podlas won at sixth singles over Cara Wald, 6-4, 0-6, 11-9.
The Bulls now advance to the Mid-American Conference Tournament where they will face second-seeded Akron on Friday in the conference quarterfinals.
