Bulls Shut Out Chicago State, 5-0

CHICAGO, IL – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team remained undefeated in Mid-American Conference play on Saturday with a 5-0 shutout win over Chicago State. The Bulls are now 10-5 overall and stand 3-0 in MAC play.
Playing against an undermanned Chicago State lineup, the Bulls and Cougars played just six of the nine matches, one doubles contest and five singles matches, with the Bulls winning them all.
In the lone doubles contest, Mitch Zenaty and Alex Kalinin defeated Ivan Mojsejev and Jerrick Boone by an 8-1 margin.
In five singles matches, the only UB player who faced much of a challenge was Wojciech Starakiewicz at number one. Starakiewicz knocked off Mojsejev by a 6-2, 7-5 score. The Bulls swept the rest of the matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores as Marcelo Mazzetto, Kirill Kolomyts, Vusa Hove and Kristof Custers picked up the wins.
UB completes its weekend in the Prairie State with a MAC match at Northern Illinois on Sunday.
