BUFFALO, NY – Zachary Duval, who has twice served on Nebraska's renowned strength staff, has been named the Director of Sports Performance at Buffalo, announced Warde Manuel, Director of Athletics.
Duval has spent the past year as Director of Athletic Performance at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. At Creighton, a member of the Missouri Valley Conference, he implemented strength and conditioning plans for the Blue Jays 14 varsity programs, while also overseeing all phases of strength, conditioning, nutrition, re-conditioning and psychology.
Duval also spent over eight years in Nebraska's "Husker Power" strength and conditioning program. He was a graduate assistant from 1995-97 and was the University's football strength coach from 1997-2002, during a time in which the Huskers captured national championships in 1995 and 1997.
He went into private business from 2002-07 as the founder and owner of The Xplosive Edge performance center. There created strength software and oversaw a staff that oversaw athletic performance and a wellness spa. He would also co-own and manage the The Performance and Wellness Institute in Greeley, CO for a year-and-a-half.
"We are excited to bring someone to Buffalo with Zach's experience and proven ability to maximize a student-athlete's potential in the areas of strength and conditioning," said Manuel. "We consider – along with academics, recruiting and coaching/leadership – strength and conditioning to be among our four pillars for success. Zach will bring a great deal of enthusiasm and experience to our Sports Performance staff."
