Kourtney Brown Named MAC East Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – Preseason All-MAC candidate Kourtney Brown was named MAC East Player of the Week on Monday in the first set of awards for the season as the junior had a career-high 33 points and added a school record 22 rebounds in UB's season-opening win at Niagara on Friday night.
Brown, who was an All-MAC Second Team selection a year ago, put together the third 30-point performance of her career and broke an 11-year record for rebounds in a game, becoming the first UB player to ever record over 20. Brown also had a career-high six steals on the night. Brown, who finished last season second in the MAC in field goal percentage, went 12-of-14 from the floor, while also adding nine free throws on the night.
Brown was named MAC East Player of the Week three times last season and in addition to her postseason All-MAC honor was also named to the MAC All-Tournament team.
The Bulls will be back in action on Saturday when they host Temple at Alumni Arena. Tip off is set for 2 pm.
