Nan Harvey Field is home to the Bulls' softball team. The stadium was completely renovated for UB's move into Division I competition in the year 2000 and featured a clay infield, enclosed dugouts, a new drainage system installed in the fall of 1999 and a state-of-the-art press box completed in the spring of 2003. In 2020 the scoreboard was repositioned to right center field to allow space for the new outfield fencing. Prior to the 2024 season, UB installed A-Turf, the same surface that is played on in UB Stadium, giving the softball program a modern field. Seating accommodates 500 people while additional seating and standing areas from the west side of UB's football stadium provides a unique perspective on the game.
In addition to the playing field, the facility includes 35-foot dugouts with brick veneer trim, a triple bullpen down the right field line, a double bullpen and dual hitting tunnels behind the home dugout and a six-foot outfield chain link fence.
The Buffalo softball locker room, located in Alumni Arena, now features a player’s lounge with a smart TV, high-quality sound bar and cell phone charging area, couches for extra seating and a study table area.
Originally referred to as the UB Softball Stadium, the facility was renamed Nan Harvey Field in a special dedication ceremony on May 3, 2003 in recognition of a bequest made to the UB athletics department by Nan Harvey, former Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator at UB.
