Marcella Barberic joined the office of Athlete Academic Affairs as an Academic Performance Specialist in the Spring of 2023. In August of 2023, she transitioned to the position of Athletic Advising Assistant while still holding the role of an APS. Marcella helps advise Football student-athletes and also works with various other sports through her APS position.Â

Marcella is from Grand Island, NY and attended the University at Buffalo where she completed a bachelor's degree in Communication in 2021. Currently, she is enrolled in the Higher Education and Student Affairs Master’s program at UB and will graduate in the Spring of 2024.

Before joining the Athletic Academic Affairs staff, Marcella was a member of the UB Women’s Soccer Team from 2017-2021. During her career, she was named team captain for three consecutive seasons.Â
