Dan Madden joined Head Coach Pete Lembo's staff as Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations prior to the 2026 campaign. He came to Buffalo after spending the previous two seasons as Director of Football Operations & Recruiting Coordinator at Richmond.

At Richmond, he managed logistics for team travel by coordinating transportation and accommodations. He also set and coordinated the program's budget. In addition, he assisted the staff with recruiting and planned and executed all recruiting events.

Prior to Richmond, Madden was at VMI where he served in a similar role as Director of Football Operations and Player Development during the 2023 season, coordinating all aspects of team travel and recruiting for the Keydets.

Prior to his time in Lexington, Madden worked at CAA-member Delaware as the Player Personnel Coordinator where he assisted with all daily activities of the football operations department, handling duties such as organizing recruiting boards and hosting recruits and their families on campus.

Madden is a double graduate of Florida State where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Editing, Writing, and Media with a Communications Minor in 2021 and a Master’s of Science in Sport Management in 2022.

Madden got his career started while at FSU, working as the recruiting assistant on Head Coach Mike Norvell’s staff. In that role, he hosted recruiting events, scouted potential student-athletes, worked team camps, broke down weekly film and tracked financial data related to the Seminoles’ recruiting efforts.
