2015-16: Wrestled at 149 lbs. and posted a 14-10 overall record… was 11-9 in dual matches and 2-6 in conference action… went 3-2 and finished fifth at the MAC Championships… advanced to the NCAA Championships where he went 1-2, pinning John Fathy of SIU Edwardsville… posted two falls and 24 takedowns on the season… tied for the team lead with three 2-point near falls and ranked second on the squad in four-point near falls with four... ranked second on the team with 29 escapes.
2014-15: Missed most of the 2014-15 season but return from injury near the end of the season and gave the Bulls a much needed spark... finished the season with a 4-3 overall record including a 3-2 mark in Mid-American Conference matches... returned to action against Columbia (1/16) and earned a pin against Jacob Macalolooy... won his second match of the season and first career MAC dual victory against Joel Shump of Ohio (1/25) by pin... closed out the season with back-to-back MAC dual victories at 141-pounds over Eastern Michigan (2/15) and Northern Illinois (2/20).
Previous School: Attended Bloomsburg as a freshman.. Finished the season with an overall record of 20-9...Collected a 16-7 record at 141 pounds and a 4-2 record at 149 pounds...ranked third on the team with five pins on the season.
High School: Cotten is a four-time state tournament place winner along with a four-time high school All-American and two-time national finalist. Cotten holds the school record with 100 falls accumulated in his four year career at Benton High School. He recorded sectional titles all four year while earning a district championship and regional championship three times.
Personal: Born on October 23, 1994… son of Fawn Cotton… lists his hobbies as hunting, fishing, trapping, hiking and camping… his favorite athlete is Nick Marable… enjoys country music and lists his favorite musicians as Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan and Eric Church… majoring in criminal justice.
