
Five Bulls Named Academic All-MAC

BUFFALO, NY – Five University at Buffalo wrestlers were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, the league announced on Tuesday. Sam Ewing, Rafael Knapp, Lonnell Pabon, Hunter Shaut and Robbie Unruh were all honored by the conference. Shaut and Unruh were named to the team for the second straight year.
Ewing is an accounting major with a 3.297 grade point average. He went 18-16 overall and started all 17 duals, finishing with an 8-9 mark.
Knapp has a 3.424 GPA. He started 13 duals on the season and finished with a 13-17 overall record.
Pabon is a business administrative major with a 3.2 grade point average. He started 14 duals on the season and posted an 8-15 overall record.
Shaut is a childhood education major with a 3.744 grade point average. He posted a 22-15 overall record, including a 7-7 record in duals. He finished fourth at the MAC Championships.
Unruh has a 3.513 grade point average as a biochemistry major. He started eight duals for UB this past season. He posted four wins on the year.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
