Kyle Shoop enters his second season as assistant coach on the University at Buffalo wrestling staff. He was elevated to head assistant coach prior to the 2022-23 campaign.
Working with the lower weights, Shoop helped John Arceri (149) qualify for the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career in 2022. In addition, Derek Spann (133) broke the the school record for career dual wins with 53.
Shoop came to Buffalo following a standout career at Lock Haven.
Over his career at Lock Haven (2015-20), Shoop was an All-American, a four-time national qualifier and an EWL Champion. The Boiling Springs, PA native won 132 matches for the Eagles, second most in program history.
