Junior (2019-20): Earned a season-best time of 2:03.77 at the Ohio State Invite in the 200 backstroke…Finished the 200 butterfly in 2:00.58 at the MAC Championships for a fifth place finish…Won the silver medal in the 400 IM at the MAC Championships in a time of 4:14.45…Earned First Team All-MAC honors.
Sophomore (2018-19): Finished in first place in the 400 yard IM at the MAC Championships in 4:14.11…Finished in fourth place in the 200 yard butterfly in 1:58.82 at the MAC Championships…Finished second in the 200 yard butterfly in 2:03.78 against Akron…Came in second place in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:05.32 against Akron…Helped her teammates to a third place finish in the 200 yard medley relay in 1:44.98 against Akron…Helped her teammates to a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:38.31 against Duquesne…Won the 100 yard IM against Duquesne in 58.90.
Freshman (2017-18): Collected a first place finish in 3:28.11 in the 400 freestyle relay event as well as the victory in the 200 meter individual medlay in a time of 2:04.54 at the FIU Fall Classic, her first-career meet... Earned four relay victoires over Cornell in the 400 medley relay, 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay events... Swam to a victory in the 200 individual medley as she finished in 2:06.55 against Toledo... Collected a win in the 100 individual medley in a time of 1:00.70 against Niagara...Won the 100 freestyle in 52.82 seconds against Ball St... Took home an eighth place finish in the 200 backstroke event as she posted a season-best time of 2:00.22 at the MAC Championships.
High School: Was a four-year member of the Orchard Park Quakers swim team for head coach Bret Norvilitis... swam the fly, back and IM during her high school career... named Buffalo News Prep Talk Player of the Year for girls swimming following her senior season in which she led her team to a 8-0 record... collected 12 Section VI titles (six individual and six relay)... was the State runner-up in the 100 butterfly, 200 IM, 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay as a senior... holds the school records in the 200 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 free style relay, 400 free style relay and 200 medley... her 100 butterfly school record was also a Section VI record.
Personal: Born on June 8, 1999... daughter of Jake and Becky Sapio... has one brother, Luke, and one sister, Isabel... was also recruited by Pittsburgh, Akron and Bowling Green... chose UB for the team atmosphere and the direction the program is heading... accounting major at UB.
