Men’s Basketball Announces 2026-27 Non-Conference Schedule

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball program and fourth year Head Coach George Halcovage III announced the completion of the 2026-27 non-conference schedule on Tuesday morning. The schedule will feature five regular season home games along with four road matchups and one neutral site game.
Prior to the regular season, the Bulls will host the Mercyhurst Lakers in an exhibition on Wednesday, Oct. 21st at Broadview Arena.
UB will open the 2026-27 regular season as they'll travel to former MAC rival Marshall as part of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge on Monday, Nov. 2nd. The Bulls will stay on the road as they'll face the Pittsburgh Panthers on Thursday, Nov. 5th. This will be the first matchup against the Panthers since the 2016-17 season.
Buffalo's home opener will be on Monday, Nov. 9th against Penn State-Schuylkill. Following the home opener, the Bulls will battle a pair of Big 4 rivals in Canisius and St. Bonaventure. The Bulls will host the Golden Griffins on Sunday, Nov. 15th as they'll travel to the Bonnies on Thursday, Nov. 19th.
Their next home game will be against the RIT Tigers on Monday, Nov. 23rd.
As previously announced, the Bulls will play the Towson Tigers on Saturday, Nov. 28th as part of the Cathedral Classic hosted by Penn in The Palestra.
The Bulls will be back in Broadview Arena on Saturday Dec. 12th against the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons.
Before the holidays, the main portion of the non-conference schedule will conclude at Rhode Island on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd.
On Saturday, Feb. 6th, UB will host a Sun Belt school for the second game of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge. Scheduling assistance is provided by Ordinal Sports Group. In addition, a combination of factors to determine the pairings, including a predictive model, coach feedback, previously contracted games, travel, and overall competitive balance. These matchups will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 12th.
