CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, naming Adele Melamud of the University at Buffalo swimming and diving program the MAC Female Diver of the Week. The freshman has now won the award twice this season.
Melamud won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events in the Bulls win over Duquesne on Saturday. The freshman earned first place in the three-meter with a score of 315.38 to open the meet, just shy of her personal best that ranks seventh in program history (321.55). Melamud doubled back to win the one-meter event too, posting a new personal record score of 279.38. The freshman's new best in the event joined the program record book to rank 10th in UB history. Melamud's two event wins against Duquesne on Saturday marked her sixth and seventh of the season.
