
Wallace Selected by Winnipeg in CFL Draft

BUFFALO, NY β Former University at Buffalo offensive lineman Gabe Wallace was selected in the second round by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 2024 Canadian Football League (CFL) Draft held on Tuesday night in Toronto. A native of British Columbia, Wallace was the 17th overall pick in the draft.
Wallace played in 49 games and made 37 starts over his career with the Bulls. He started at both tackle and guard and was an All-MAC Third Team selection in both 2022 and 2023.
Wallace was the seventh UB player selected in the CFL Draft and the first since Domonic Johnson in 2021.
Earlier in the day, another former Bull, Fabian Weitz was selected in the CFL's Global Draft, also by Winnipeg. The former UB linebacker from Germany was selected with the eighth pick. Non-Canadian and Non-American players make up the two-round Global Draft.
