BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Becky Burke announced the signing of top prospect Jaylin Hartman to the roster for the 2024-25 season.
Hartman, a 6'2" forward from Mendham, NJ, comes to Buffalo from George Washington University where she appeared in seven games as a freshman.
She was a highly touted recruit out of high school as she was listed as the 42nd ranked prospect in her class according to the Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Basketball Report. A two-time Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL) First Team selection, Hartman was a four-year started at Blair Academy, leading the Bucs to three MAPL championships and a NJ Prep A State Championship as a senior.
As a first-year at Blair Academy, she was named a U16 Olympic Invitee, one of only 30 players nationally in her class. She had a standout junior season, in which she led her team in points, rebounds, steals, blocks and assists while helping to lead the Bucs to the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Championship. Hartman then followed that up with a stellar senior year, leading the squad in minutes, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, free throws made and blocks while ranking in the top three in points, assists and three-point field goals made.
"Jaylin is extremely versatile and skilled in every aspect of the game," said Burke. "She brings us the size, scoring and rebounding that we are in need of at her position. I think Jaylin's skill set really allows us to expand our system both offensively and defensively. Jaylin was a top 50 recruit out of high school, and I believe Buffalo is the perfect place for her to showcase her talents. I'm excited to see her develop on and off the court here at UB!"
