Bulls Hit the Road for the Final Time this Season at Kent State

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (4-23, 2-12 MAC) will hit the road for the final time this season as they battle the Kent State Golden Flashes (13-14, 6-8 MAC) on Tuesday evening. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. on ESPN+ as Josh Whetzel can be heard on the Varsity Network App and on 1520 Buffalo/1280 Rochester AM over the airwaves.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls are coming off a 91-72 road loss to the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday afternoon. Sy Chatman recorded his 13th game with 20+ points on the season. Since the 2010-11 season, he's tied for eighth with Zach Filzen and Justin Moss for the most 20-point games at UB. Jonnivius Smith had his seventh double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Isaiah Adams led the team with four assists. Adding double figures scoring was Ryan Sabol with 11 points.
BULL-ETIN BOARD
• Tuesday's game at Kent State will be Buffalo's final road game of the season as they'll close the season with a three-game homestand.
• In Buffalo's last five games, Zaakir Williamson has recorded three 10-point games to tie his career high in points off the bench. In this five-game stretch, Williamson has scored 42 points (8.4 ppg), 19 rebounds (3.8 rpg) and has shot 18-for-23 (78.3%) from the floor. Last Tuesday against Eastern Michigan, he recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
• Sy Chatman has scored in double figures in all but one game this season for the Bulls. His 18.6 points per game is good for fifth in the MAC and 66th in the NCAA. The fifth year forward has also averages 6.5 rebounds per game which is eighth in the MAC. During MAC play, Chatman's 19.1 points per game is tied for fifth.
• Jonnivius Smith leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game, which ranks 64th in the NCAA and third in the MAC. Smith's 8.6 rebounds per game in MAC play is third behind Rashaun Agee (Bowling Green, 10.9) and Enrique Freeman (Akron, 12.9).
• Sy Chatman has scored 15+ in 20 of the 27 games this season, including 13 games of 20+. With 503 points on the season, he's fourth in the MAC in total points and 63rd in the NCAA. After a 23-point performance at Western Michigan on Saturday, Chatman became the 22nd UB player to reach 500 points in a season since the program's Modern Era (1991). The last Bull to accomplish this was Jeenathan Williams in the 2021-22 season when he scored 554 points.
• Isaiah Adams is averaging a team-high 3.6 assists on the season, good for fifth in the MAC. His 1.23 assists-to-turnover ratio is eighth in the MAC.
• In the last six games, Shawn Fulcher has had 31 assists and just 14 turnovers for a 2.21 assist-to-turnover ratio.
• Freshman Ryan Sabol leads the team with 52 made three-pointers on the season. He ranks ninth in the MAC in three-pointers made and is just one of two freshmen to be in the top-10 of the MAC.
• Only Sy Chatman has started every game for the Bulls. Ryan Sabol and Shawn Fulcher are the only other Bulls to play in every game.
• Sy Chatman and Jonnivius Smith are the only duo in the MAC to each have at least six double-doubles.
• Jonnivius Smith is the first Bull to have seven double-doubles in a season since Josh Mballa's nine in 2021-22.
• Buffalo's 4.5 blocks per game is second in the MAC and 47th in the nation.
• A pair of Bulls are reaching 1,000 career points in Isaiah Adams and Sy Chatman. Adams is 23 points shy as Chatman needs 62 points to reach this milestone.
