Big Plays Spark Bulls to Third Straight Win at Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, MI – In a game filled with big plays on both sides of the ball, the University at Buffalo football team won their third straight game on Wednesday night, defeating Eastern Michigan, 37-20, at Rynearson Stadium.
The first offensive firework came from J.J. Jenkins who took a quick out from C.J. Ogbonna and raced 90 yards for a touchdown to open the scoring, midway through the first quarter. It was the third-longest touchdown pass in UB football history.
Early in the second quarter, Dion Crawford had a sack for a safety to ignite his big night and give the Bulls a 10-0 lead. It was the first of a career-high three sacks in the game for the sophomore edge.
Victor Snow caught a 7-yard touchdown, late in the first half, to extend the Buffalo lead to 17-0. The lead would remain 17 points at the half thanks to a one-handed interception by Solomon Brown in the endzone in the closing seconds of the second quarter.
After Eastern Michigan scored early in the third quarter, Al-Jay Henderson capped a 10-play, 75-yard drive on the Bulls ensuing possession with a 1-yard touchdown plunge to put the Bulls ahead, 23-7.
Eastern Michigan fought back to make it a game midway through the fourth quarter, cutting the UB advantage to 23-20. However, it took only one play for the Bulls to regain a 10-point edge as Ogbonna hit Henderson in stride for a 75-yard touchdown.
The game was put on ice thanks to yet another signature Shaun Dolac play. The graduate linebacker intercepted his second pass of the game, hurdled tacklers and raced 60 yards for a touchdown.
Dolac finished with nine tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and two interceptions. Fellow linebacker Red Murdock also had nine tackles and a tackle for loss in the game.
Offensively, Ogbonna paced the Bulls, throwing for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Jenkins had five catches for 120 yards and a score. Henderson rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown and added a 75-yard receiving touchdown.
The Bulls will close out the regular season on Tuesday night against Kent State at UB Stadium.
