Bulls Take Gold, Silver & Bronze at Day One of UB Diving Invite

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo swimming and diving team opened the UB Diving Invite Friday morning with the eight programs competing in 3-meter diving. Buffalo's very own Victoria Franz took first place, with a score of 341.90.
The Bulls dominated the leaderboards in an event of 37 divers, with Buffalo taking five of the 12 spots in the finals. Franz's first place finish highlighted the event, but the Bulls had a strong team performance in the finals with Marialis Kwak placing second (325.90), Presley Dorsett taking third (310.90), Maggie Meyers finishing ninth (262.85) and Sophie Meuwissen placing 11th (239.30).
Dorsett was also one of three Bulls to set a new personal record on Friday, with the junior's score of 310.90 being a new personal best. Dorsett's score also cracks the top-ten in school history, ranking eighth.
In the preliminary round, Buffalo had the top four divers, with Franz finishing in first (340.95), Kwak taking second (309.55), Dorsett placing third (274.65) and Meuwissen finishing in fourth (269.20). Meyers (11th, 252.25) and Mallory Hanna (13th, 246.65) also had strong performances for the Bulls in the preliminary round.
The other two Buffalo divers to set new personal records on Friday were freshmen Meuwissen (269.20) and Meyers (262.85).
