
UB Announces Additions to Facility Operations Staff

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo Division of Athletics has announced additions to its facility operations staff. Shane DeMoree has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Operations and Rory Jimerson has been tabbed Director of Athletic Facilities and Game Operations.
DeMoree comes to Buffalo from Fresno State where he spent the last year as the Bulldogs' Director of Events. At Fresno, he oversaw all athletic events, including event planning, coordination, facility arrangements and staffing for 17 varsity sports.
"I would like to thank Vice President and Director of Athletics Mark Alnutt and Deputy Director Nate Wills, as well as the entire search committee for their efforts in this process, and for their belief in me," DeMoree said. "I feel very fortunate to be given the opportunity to be a part of the UB family and can't wait to get started!"
From 2016-2022, DeMoree was the Coordinator of Facilities and Operations at Binghamton University. He was responsible for game management logistics for 21 varsity sports as well as managed conference championships held on Binghamton's campus.
Prior to his time at Binghamton, DeMoree spent two years as an Events and Operations Assistant at Long Beach State. His in-game responsibilities included game operations, crowd control and customer service.
In California, he also spent time with the Rose Bowl Operating Company, working in guest services for all UCLA games, concerts and other events held at Rose Bowl Stadium. He also worked for NFL Network, handling the delivery of advertisements during NFL games.
DeMoree began his career in athletic facilities at his alma mater, Stony Brook, where he was the Facilities and Event Operations Manager from 2012-14. He was a student-athlete at Stony Brook, competing on the Seawolves' swim team.
DeMoree was a Dean's List student who graduated with a bachelor's degree in health science with a concentration in healthcare management in 2014. He earned his master's degree in sports management from Long Beach State in 2016.
A Western New York native, Jimerson comes to Buffalo from Western Carolina University where he spent the last five years as Director of Athletic Facilities and Game Operations.
At Western Carolina, he managed operations for 16 NCAA Division I sports including pregame set-up, postgame breakdown, working with visiting teams and officials and scheduling use of facilities. He also supervised capital projects and facilities staff.
Jimerson earned a masters of sports management degree from Western Carolina in 2018. While working on his degree, he spent time as an external affairs intern and then was the Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities and Game Operations before being promoted to director.
Jimerson is a 2016 graduate of SUNY Brockport with a bachelor's degree in sport management and kinesiology.
UB Athletics also announced the promotion of Michael Salmon to Assistant Director of Event and Facility Operations. He previously served as the department's Athletic Facility Manager.
