BUFFALO, NY — The University at Buffalo Athletics Department is set to host Game ChangeHER night on Wednesday, March 1 in correspondence with the women's basketball game against Akron at 6pm at Alumni Arena.
During the 2021-22 season, M&T Bank and UB Athletics partnered together on the first annual Game ChangeHER collaboration to elevate female leadership through athletics, and the program has now grown to include Balanced Body Foods, Catalyst Fitness, and M&T Bank as sponsors. As part of this partnership, the three participating businesses will be honored in an on-court presentation in-game and will be presented with UB Bulls jerseys with a "Game ChangeHER" nameplate. One of the main initiatives with this program is to increase attendance for all UB women's sporting events, including basketball, so each business has agreed to purchase 100 tickets that they will distribute to their employees, family, and friends for a "Pack the House" night.
"At M&T Bank, we are deeply committed to developing diverse leaders who are determined to make a difference in people's lives and inspire positive change," said Michelle-Marie Gant, M&T Bank Director of Diversity & Inclusion. "UB Athletics' GamechangeHER initiative will expand our region's leadership pipeline by empowering young women to lead on campus, in the community, and in their future careers. The rising leaders who take the court for the UB Bulls Women's Basketball Team will fuel the future and change the game for women in business, education, and sports. We're grateful for this opportunity to be a part of their stories."
In addition to game day elements for women's sporting events, this partnership will feature leadership seminars in April for female student-athletes put on by M&T Bank, Balanced Body Foods, and Catalyst Fitness.
