
Buffalo Posts a Combined 3.071 GPA for Fall Semester

BUFFALO, NY – It was another successful semester in the classroom for UB student-athletes as they posted a 3.071 grade point average for the fall semester. It was the eighth straight semester the Bulls posted a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Women's tennis claimed the top spot for the fall semester with a 3.719 team grade point average. Men's tennis led all men's teams with a 3.523 GPA. Swimming and diving posted their highest grade point average in program history with a 3.648.
Women's basketball had the most improved semester from the fall, increasing their GPA by 0.672 points, followed by men's tennis (+0.219) and wrestling (+0.137).
Overall, 12 teams had a 3.0 grade point average or better – women's tennis (3.719), swimming and diving (3.648), soccer (3.572), volleyball (3.552), men's tennis (3.523), women's cross country (3.359), women's track and field (3.355), women's basketball (3.342), men's cross country (3.317), men's track and field (3.232), softball (3.165) and wrestling (3.056).
The department had 39 student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs and 137 posted a 3.5 or better. In all, 231 student-athletes (64 percent) reached the 3.0 plateau.
"We're all very proud of our student-athletes continuing to perform at a high level in the classroom," Associate Athletic Director for Academic Affairs said. "We had over 230 of our student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA, 137 who earned at least a 3.5, and 39 who earned a 4.0 during the semester. They continue to set the bar higher and show that not only are we going to succeed at a high level athletically but we will continue to succeed in the classroom and beyond as well."
