Bulls Fall on the Road to #24 Pitt

PITTSBURGH, PA – For the sixth time this season, the University at Buffalo wrestling team faced a ranked program, this time traveling to No. 24 Pittsburgh on Friday night. The Bulls dropped the contest, 37-0.
The Panthers had six ranked wrestlers in their lineup and that talent and experience proved to be too much for the young UB lineup.
Due to injuries, head coach John Sutzman had to juggle his lineup. Matt Ryan and Kaleb Burgess were both bumped up a weight class. Ryan wrestled at 149 and Burgess wrestled at 157. Burgess dropped a close 1-0 decision to Dazjon Casto.
Giuseppe Hoose went up against #18 Reece Heller and almost pulled off the upset. The redshirt-senior dropped a 3-2 decision and nearly had a takedown in the closing seconds that would have given him the win.
The loss drops the Bulls to 6-8. They will return home on Sunday to host Hofstra at 2 pm and Alumni Arena.
