
Fuqua Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – Safety Marcus Fuqua was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. It is the first time the junior has earned the honor.
Fuqua had four tackles, an interception and a pass breakup in Buffalo's game at Maryland on Saturday. He was able to return his interception for 23 yards against the Terrapins.
A native of Southfield, MI, Fuqua is in his second season as a starter at safety. He made seven starts a season ago. He ranked third on the team in tackles with 59 in 2021 and added three pass breakups and a forced fumble.
The Bulls are home on Saturday to host Holy Cross.
