BUFFALO, NY –University at Buffalo Athletics is excited to announce the launch of BUILT IN BUFFALO, the new Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) program created to ensure UB student-athletes are provided the necessary resources to enhance and maximize their personal brand, platform and potential. Throughout the past year, UB Athletics has been developing this one-of-a-kind NIL program based on feedback from student-athletes and conversations with local and national businesses.
"As Name, Image and Likeness opportunities continue to evolve and become accessible, we knew it was important to educate our student-athletes on their personal brand management," Vice President and Director of Athletics Mark Alnutt said. "BUILT IN BUFFALO will ensure our student-athletes are equipped with the tools to maximize these opportunities. It will also create awareness, synergies and will help educate our fans, alumni and the local business community on NIL opportunities that are available for our student-athletes."
The BUILT IN BUFFALO program offers student-athletes comprehensive educational programming on topics including financial literacy, contracts, and tax preparation from key figures in the Buffalo Community. This programming will support student-athletes as they utilize INFLCR to assist in their brand and business development. INFLCR is a leading brand management and social media software connected to the proprietary INFLCR Exchange which allows student-athletes to connect to fans and businesses on a local and national level.
With over 287,000 alumni in over 150 countries, UB student-athletes are well positioned to leverage their special talents and personal value into incredible opportunities that will have a lasting impact on their lives.
UB fans will have the opportunity to connect with student-athletes both in-person and online through future networking events and student-athlete bios on ubbulls.com. More information will be made available when these programs are finalized.
UB Athletics will be hosting a BUILT IN BUFFALO informational meeting for interested parties on Sept. 13 at 4 pm. The meeting will be held via zoom. Please RSVP to ath-compliance@buffalo.edu to confirm your spot.
