Williams Named to Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo defensive tackle Daymond Willliams was named to the Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List on Tuesday, presented annually to the best interior lineman in college football. He is one of four players from the Mid-American Conference on the list.
Williams was a second-team All-MAC selection in 2021 following a strong first season with the Bulls. The Cisco College transfer led the Bulls and ranked sixth in the MAC in sacks with 6.5. He added 46 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss while playing both defensive tackle and defensive end.
The recipient of the 2022 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN on Thurs., Dec. 8. The official presentation to the winner will be made at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 11, 2023.
