BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Becky Burke continues to build the roster for next season with the signing of Hattie Ogden from Magrath, Alberta, Canada.
A 6-2 guard/forward, Ogden is a rising star in Canada. Playing at Magrath High School, she averaged 24 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and six steals per game, while shooting 42.8% from three-point range as a senior. She recorded 14 double-doubles, seven triple doubles and a quadruple double on the year while leading the Pandas to the 4A Provincial final for the first time in school history. She also received First Team All-Star honors for the second time in her high school career. She currently plays AAU ball for the Kia Nurse Elite EYBL team which is widely regarded as the top AAU program in Canada.
"I believe Hattie is one of the best kept secrets in the class of 2022," said Burke. "At 6'2, her ability to play with her back to the basket face up and play off the bounce and shoot the three ball at a high clip presents major matchup problems for opponents. She is also extremely versatile defensively and will be able to defend multiple positions for us. Hattie is a natural leader, high level competitor and an incredible human being. We are thrilled that she chose to join us here at Buffalo."
