
Dyaisha Fair Named A Finalist For Becky Hammon Award

HOPEWELL, NJ – University at Buffalo junior guard Dyaisha Fair has been named one of five finalists for the 2022 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award, as announced by Her Hoop Stats on Wednesday.
After previously being named one of 10 semifinalists and the only player to make the list in three straight seasons, Fair now receives finalist honors for the first time in her career.
Fair, who was named to the Mid-American Conference's First Team earlier this week is averaging 23.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game and a +2.0 assist to turnover ratio, while shooting 81.7% from the free throw line.
The Rochester, NY native is currently ranked fourth in the nation in scoring (23.1) while also ranking second in total points (694), ninth in field goals made (236), 11th in free throws made (143), 14th in three-point field goals made (79), 23rd in three-point field goals made per game (2.6) and 25th in free throws attempted (175). She has scored in double figures 28 times this season, 22 times with 20 or more points and six times with 30+ points. Fair is also on the late season watch list for the Dawn Staley Award as well as the Nancy Lieberman Award watch list, recognizing the best point guard in women's Division I basketball.
To be eligible for this award, players must compete in one of the 26 conferences deemed to be "mid-major." Her Hoop Stats will announce the winner around the Final Four.
