
Victoria Franz Gets Set for NCAA Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. - University at Buffalo women's diver Victoria Franz is set to take the big stage at this year's NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. This year's championships will take place at the McCauley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga. The first day of the championships is Wednesday, March 16 and will run through Saturday, March 19. Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) will host this year's championships. The historic site was the home of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
Franz, the 2022 MAC Diver of the Year and two-time gold medalist, has had a stellar 2021-22 season for the Bulls. This year alone she has moved up the program ranks as she is second in both the 1 and 3-meter dives. She nearly broke the 3-meter dive record with a score of 350.40 but was just .25-points behind Meili Carpenter's score of 350.65. Franz sits in second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 323.35. At the NCAA Diving Zones, she finished second in the 1-meter dive with a 12-dive score of 575.95 and claimed third place in the 3-meter dive with 598.10 points.
