Bulls fall to Akron, 165-134

AKRON, Ohio - The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team (0-1, 0-1 MAC) fell to the Akron Zips (1-0, 1-0 MAC) on Friday afternoon by a score of 165-134. The defeat was UB's first in a dual meet since the 2019-20 season.
THE POOL
The Bulls nearly earned victories in the 200 medley relay and 1000 freestyle, with Karen Austin taking second in the latter with a time of 10:23.28.
Sawyer Bosley won the 200 freestyle in 1:50.53.
After Mia Naccarella's second-place finish in the 100 backstroke (56.07), UB won the next four events in the pool.
Katie Pollock claimed victory in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.69, with Kaley Ream winning the 200 butterfly in 2:03.28.
Toni Naccarella earned a win in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.24, and in the 100 freestyle in 50.59.
Mia Naccarella also finished second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:04.20.
Elise McCaul claimed third in 500 freestyle in 5:06.10, Amanda Neeb took third in the 100 butterfly in 55.99, and Lena Li claimed third in the 200 IM in 2:07.73.
THE DIVING WELL
The Bulls were victorious in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive. Marialis Kwak won the 3-meter dive with a score of 319.88, and Patricia Arceri claimed second place with a score of 302.18. Victoria Franz finished first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 276.20, and Arceri finished third with a score of 261.83.

The Bulls are back in action on Thursday, Dec.1 through Sunday, Dec. 4 as the team returns to Akron for the Zippy Invite.
