
Bulls Take Down Cardinals, 158-141 in Regular Season Finale

MUNCIE, Ind. β The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team (5-0, 4-0 MAC) closed out the regular season with a 158-141 win over the Ball State Cardinals (3-3, 1-3 MAC). UB is now 10-8 all-time against the Cardinals as Head Coach Andy improves to 8-1 against the MAC foe.

With the win over Ball State, the Bulls have earned back-to-back undefeated seasons for the first time in program history. It also marks just the fourth undefeated season in program history.
IN THE POOL
The first event of the day was the 200 medley relay. Mia Naccarella, Katie Pollock, Jillian Lawton, and Ellie Duley won the event in a time of 1:44.10 grabbing 11 early points for the Bulls.

The dynamic sister duo of Mia and Toni Naccarella helped grab 49 points for the team. M. Naccarella won the 100 backstroke in 57.47-seconds and the 150 backstroke in 1:30.95. T. Naccarella won the 150 freestyle in 1:22.97 and the 100 freestyle in 52.21-seconds. They both contributed in relays, as well.

Freestyle specialist Lawton went on to win the 50 freestyle in 23.99-seconds.

Marij van der Mast finished in second in both the 150 freestyle (1:24.90) and 400 freestyle (4:04.32).

Freshman Amanda Neeb won the 100 butterfly in 56.92-seconds, the 150 butterfly in 1:30.19, while helping the team to two-third place finishes in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

IN THE DIVING WELL
In the 1-meter dive the Bulls had a dominant performance as they swept the podium. Victoria Franz won with a score of 291.00. Freshman Marialis Kwak finished second with 252.53 points with Patricia Arceri finishing third with 249.68 points. Kaylee Donovan finished sixth with a score of 202.73. In the 3-meter dive, Kwak led the way with a second place finish with 274.43 points. Arceri repeated as the third place finisher with 273.23 points as Donovan (246.08) and Franz (238.20) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Β

UP NEXT
The Bulls will ramp up and prepare for the MAC Championships that are scheduled from Wednesday, Feb. 23 through Saturday, Feb. 26. This year's championship will be hosted by Bowling Green State University.
