Bulls Take Down Miami (OH) on Senior Day

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's swimming & diving team (4-0, 3-0 MAC) defeated the Miami (OH) RedHawks (2-3, 1-2 MAC) on Saturday afternoon, 178-122. The team improved their win streak to 13 while capturing just their second ever victory over the RedHawks in program history.
IN THE POOL
The team started the day off with a dominant win in the 200 medley relay. Mia Naccarella, Katie Pollock, Jillian Lawton, and Toni Naccarella won in 1:42.64. Maddy McDonough, Taeghen Brezovski, Clarice Fisher, and Ellie Duley claimed third in 1:46.42 just getting edged out for second place by the RedHawks.
Senior Jaidyn Wolfe finished second in the 1000 freestyle (10:39.60) and the 400 IM (4:33.46).
M. Naccarella and McDonough had solid performances in the 100 backstroke with M. Naccarella winning the event in 56.59-seconds and McDonough claiming third in 56.96-seconds. McDonough went on to win the 200 backstroke in 2:02.11.
Pollock won her specialty event in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:03.02.
In the 200 butterfly, Fisher and Amanda Neeb game the one-two punch as they finished first and second, respectively. Fisher won the event in 2:05.15 with Neeb just behind in a time of 2:06.10.
Lawton and T. Naccarella continued their dominance in the 50 freestyle. Lawton won in 23.42-seconds with T. Naccarella finishing in third in 23.78-seconds.
Prior to the final two events, Lawton, Neeb, Fisher, and Duley finished 1-2-3-4 in the 100 butterfly. School record holder Lawton won in 55.17-seconds as Neeb (56.37-seconds), Fisher (57.08-seconds), and Duley (57.50-seconds) followed her guidance.
To close out the day, UB finished first and third in the 400 freestyle relay. Neeb, Lawton, T. Naccarella, and Sawyer Bosley won in 3:25.43. Abbey Malmstrom, Marij van der Mast, Maddy Rogan, and Grace Wood claimed third in 3:36.23.
IN THE DIVING WELL
Junior diver Victoria Franz continued her dominant season as she won the 1 and 3-meter dives. To start the day, she scored an astounding 331.35 points in the 3-meter. She followed up with 319.43 points in the 1-meter. Freshman Marialis Kwak claimed second in the 3-meter (304.80) as Patricia Arceri finished third (292.73). With a second place finish in the 1-meter, Arceri improved her top-10 score to fourth in program history with 292.13 points. Kwak followed up by also improving her score to sixth in program history with 289.80 points with a third place finish.

The Bulls will wrap up the regular season as they hit the road next week to take on the Ball State Cardinals (2-1, 0-0 MAC) at noon EST.
