
Six Bulls Named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-MAC Team

BUFFALO, NY – Six members of the University at Buffalo football team were named to Phil Steele's Preseason All-MAC Team. Running back Kevin Marks, Jr., offensive tackle Jake Fuzak and punt returner Ron Cook, Jr. were named to the first team; linebacker James Patterson was named to the second team and linebacker Kadofi Wright and kicker Alex McNulty were named to the fourth team.
Marks, a third-team All-MAC selection in 2020, rushed for 741 yards and seven touchdowns over seven games last season. He was the MVP of the Camellia Bowl after rushing for 138 yards and a touchdown in UB's win over Marshall.
Fuzak returns for his second season as starter at offensive tackle. He started all seven games last season at right tackle, blocking for an offense that ranked second in the nation in rushing yards per game (287.4) and allowed only one sack on the season.
Cook was a third-team All-MAC selection as a returner last season. He averaged 9.1 yards on eight punt returns and 25.2 yards on nine kick returns in 2020.
Patterson is coming off his best season for the Bulls. The senior linebacker was an All-MAC First Team selection in 2020 after leading the team in tackles with 63. He added a tackle for loss, an interception and a forced fumble.
Wright, an All-MAC Second Team selection in 2019, had 23 tackles, three tackles for loss, an interception and a team-best seven pass breakups last season. He had a 65-yard pick six in UB's win at Northern Illinois.
McNulty was a third-team All-MAC pick last season. He was a perfect 42-of-42 on point after attempts. His 42 made extra points were the fourth most in school history for a single season. He was 1-for-4 on field goal attempts, making a 23-yarder against Marshall in the Camellia Bowl.
Under new head coach Maurice Linguist, the Bulls kick off the 2021 campaign on September 2 against Wagner.
