
Bulls Trample Bobcats, 190-110

ATHENS, Ohio – The University at Buffalo women's swimming & diving team (2-0, 2-0 MAC) defeated the Ohio Bobcats Saturday afternoon, 190-110. The Bulls have now improved their win streak to 11, just the second time under Head Coach Andy Bashor's tenure. UB went on to win 12 of the 16 events in their dominant victory.
THE POOL
To start the day, the Bulls finished first and second in the 200 medley relay. Madison McDonough, Katie Pollock, Clarice Fisher and Jillian Lawton won with a time of 1:44.91. Finishing in second-place in a time of 1:45.30 was Mia Naccarella, Michaela Morgus, Amanda Neeb and Ellie Duley.
In a distance race, sophomore Marij van der Mast won the 1000 freestyle in 10:31.36. Winning by 1.44-seconds. She also won the 500 freestyle in 5:05.73.
Toni Naccarella continued to show her dominance in freestyle events. She won the 200 freestyle (1:52.05) and 100 freestyle (50.85) while finishing third in the 50 freestyle (23.97). Her sister, Mia, won the 200 backstroke in 2:03.12. McDonough finished second just .60-seconds behind M. Naccarella.
Lawton won the highly contested 50 freestyle in a time of 23.58-seconds.
Pollock, breaststroke specialist, won the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.04 while finishing third in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.95).
To close out the day, UB won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:28.42. Alicia Wood, Sawyer Bosley, T. Naccarella, and van der Mast were the winners of the relay.
THE DIVING WELL
The Bulls were not messing around in the diving well. Senior Patricia Arceri won the 3-meter dive with a score of 272.93 with Victoria Franz right behind finishing with 270.75 points, good for second-place. Freshmen Kaylee Dorsett (262.20, third-place) and Presley Dorsett (258.45, fourth-place) also had exceptional performances.
Franz would go on to win the 1-meter dive with a score of 314.40, outscoring second-place by nearly 50 points. Arceri claimed second with a score of 266.55 as Dorsett finished in fourth-place with a score of 257.63. Donovan finished with a score of 201.83, good for seventh-place.
