McDuffie and Patterson honored by the MAC

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo football players took two of the three Player of the Week awards the Mid-American Conference announced on Monday. Running back Dylan McDuffie was named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week and linebacker James Patterson was named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week following the Bulls' thrilling come-from-behind victory over Ohio on Saturday.
McDuffie rushed for a career-high 143 yards and a touchdown in Buffalo's win over Ohio. Making his first career start, the junior running back had 23 carries for a 6.2 yards-per-carry average. He scored on a 4-yard touchdown run to help the Bulls rally from a 21-0 deficit. His day included a career-long 58-yard run.
Patterson had a career-high 15 tackles against Ohio. He added a tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry and was instrumental in the Bulls' comeback victory over the Bobcats.
It's the third week this season a UB player has been honored by the MAC. Quarterback Kyle Vantrease was named Offensive Player of the Week following the opener against Wagner and defensive end Taylor Riggins was named Defensive Player of the Week following UB's game against Coastal Carolina.
The Bulls are next in action at Akron on Saturday.
