Three Bulls Selected to Play in All-Star Games

BUFFALO, NY – Three University at Buffalo football players have been invited to participate in all-star games. Evin Ksiezarczyk will play in the East West Shrine Game, while Joey Banks and Paul Nosworthy will play in the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl.
Ksiezarczyk will be the third UB player to participate in the East West Shrine Game, joining Namaan Roosevelt (2010) and Khalil Hodge (2019). A native of West Seneca, NY, Ksiezarczyk started 39 games at left tackle over his career. He was a two-time All-MAC selection, including a first-team pick in 2019. This past season, he anchored of an offensive line that allowed only eight sacks on the season – a program record and the second fewest in the nation.
The East West Shrine Game will be played in St. Petersburg, FL on January 18. The NFL Network will air the game.
Banks was the Bulls' starting safety over the past two seasons after transferring from City College of San Francisco. In 2019, he led the Bulls in tackles with 85, including 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack on the season en route to earning All-MAC First Team honors. His three interceptions were also a team best. Banks was named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week three times this past season. The only other UB player to ever win MAC East Player of the Week three times in the same season was Khalil Mack in 2013.
Nosworthy started 26 games at left guard over his career. A second-team All-MAC selection in 2019, he was a key contributor to an offensive line that paved the way for an offense that rushed for a school-record 3,256 yards on the season.
It marks the fourth year Buffalo will be represented at the Tropical Bowl. Former defensive end Chuck Harris and cornerback Cam Lewis played in the game last year. Former punter Kyle DeWeen played in the game in 2018. Former quarterback Joe Licata played in, and was the MVP, of the inaugural 2016 game.
