BUFFALO, NY – A first ever trip to Nebraska in 2021 highlights three future University at Buffalo football non-conference games announced on Tuesday. The Bulls have also finalized contracts with Rutgers and Delaware State.
Buffalo will travel to Nebraska to face the Cornhuskers on September 11, 2021. It will not only be the Bulls first trip to Lincoln, but the first time ever a UB football team will play in the Cornhusker State. UB head coach Lance Leipold was on the staff at Nebraska from 2001-2003.
"This is a great opportunity for our program to compete against a revered program like Nebraska," Athletic Director Allen Greene said. "The experience and exposure gained by playing this game will be invaluable."
After kicking off the 2018 season against Delaware State on September 1 at UB Stadium, the Bulls will travel to New Jersey to take on Rutgers on September 22. It will be the seventh meeting between the schools and the first since the 2007 campaign. The Scarlet Knights hold a 5-1 advantage in the all-time series. UB defeated Rutgers, 34-11, at High Point Solutions Stadium in 2002.
"Playing Big 10 programs like Nebraska and Rutgers is an exciting opportunity for our players and helps us gain valuable exposure as we are always looking to expand our recruiting footprint," Leipold said.
The 2016 season kicks off against Albany on September 2 at UB Stadium. For tickets and more information please contact the UB ticket office at 1-877-UB-There or click here.
