Bulls Compete at Eastern Sprints

WORCESTER, MA – The University at Buffalo women's rowing team competed at the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Massachusetts on a rainy Sunday. It was the Bulls final tune-up before the Colonial Athletic Association Championships on May 15.
The Bulls had five boats going up against some of the top competition in the northeast.
The Varsity 8 boat finished seventh in the petite final with a time of 7:44.098. The boat was comprised of Courtney Donovan, Clare Costello, Samantha Paige, Meghan O'Brien, Erin O'Connell, Mackenzie Turpin, Juliana Gomez, Sophie Wisoff and Colleen Patterson.
The Second Varsity 8 boat of Ally Mayo, Madeline Sheffield, Tracey Zajac, Erica Tenteromano, Jillian Michael, Maddy Saporito, Stephanie Busha, Allyssa Cotten and Rylee James finished sixth in the petite final with a time of 7:44.642.
The Third Varsity 8 finished fourth and the Fourth Varsity 8 fifth in their petite final. The Third Varsity 8 boat, made up of Melissa Stein, Anna Sviripa, Sarah Brill, Veronica Czarnik, Sara Jakiel, Paige Krohn, Emma Napper, Sara Jakiel, Leia Smith and Dania Abul-Erin finished with a time of 8:29.702.
The Fourth Varsity 8 boat consisted of Marissa Scaduto, Lindsey Carlsen, Alexas Hillis, Joy Ene, Vanessa Mareno, Victoria Nehls, Ellie Bortianski, Dannielle Kwong, and Briana Kelly and finished with a time of 8:40.213.
The Varsity 4 boat of Caeleigh Heavey, Hayley Nieves, Elizabeth Shilling, Elisabeth Good and Ankita Kelkar finished seventh in the petite final with a time of 9:06.401.
