Bulls Compete at the Eastern Sprints

WOCESTER, MA – The University at Buffalo women's rowing team competed at the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigam in Wocester, MA on Sunday. Lightning in the area forced delays, pushing the finals to later in the afternoon.
All four of Buffalo's boats competing advanced to the afternoon's Petite Final.
The Varsity 4 boat was UB's top finisher, placing fifth in the Petite Final. The Bulls finished with a time of 8:52.44 – beating out teams from MIT and Holy Cross. The Varsity 4 boat was made up of Marissa Scaduto, Maria Chinnici, Mackenzie Junjulas, Juliana Gomez and Dania Abul-Enin.
Both the Varsity 8 and the 2nd Varsity 8 boat finished seventh in the Petite Final. The Varsity 8 boat of Ally Mayo, Elisabeth Good, Abbie Albright, Maddy Saporito, Erin O'Connell, Sarah Brill, Jillian Michael, Hayley Nieves and Anna Sviripa posted a time of 7:37.47. The 2nd Varsity 8 boat of Caeleigh Heavey, Napper, Isabella Goldberg, Elizabeth Shilling, Sydney Jones, Natalie Howk, Paige Krohn, Madeline Sheffield and Ankita Kelkar posted a time of 7:48.0.
The 3rd Varsity 8 boat finished third in the Petite Final with a time of 8:11.44. The boat was made up of Dana Cowley, Stephanie Busha, Veronica Trzeciak, Rylee James, Alexa Hillis, Victoria Nehls, Becca Rozeski, Eden Griger and Dowlette Alam El Din.
The Bulls will next compete at the CAA Championships on Sunday, May 14.
