
Grassman Named MAC East Special Teams Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo, The State University of New York punter Tyler Grassman was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts in the Bulls' 33-15 win at Florida Atlantic.
Grassman averaged 38.8 yards on nine punts on the afternoon. He had two punts over 50 yards, including a 51-yarder that was downed inside the 1-yard line. One play later, the UB defense stopped FAU in the endzone for a safety. Grassman also handled kickoff duties and three of his seven kickoffs went for touchbacks.
For the season, Grassman is averaging 39.7 yards per punt. He has had four punts downed inside the 20-yard line and four punts of 50 yards or more. The senior punter ranks third in school history in total punts (220) and punting yards (8,461).
It marks the second time in three weeks a UB player has been named MAC Special Teams Player of the Week. Jacob Martinez earned the award following UB's win over Albany.
