
2015-16 Wrestling Schedule Announced

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York wrestling head coach John Stutzman announced their 2015-16 schedule on Monday afternoon. The schedule is highlighted by six home matches and a trip to Chicago, IL for the Midlands Championships.
"I am excited to announce our 2015-16 schedule," stated third-year head coach John Stutzman. "This is a very difficult schedule that is going to test our young but talented team, while helping them prepare for for the MAC and NCAA Championships."
The Bulls open up their season at the Terrapin Duals on Sunday, Nov. 1 as they will take on Maryland, Davidson and West Liberty. Two weeks later the Bulls will head down the road to Albany for the Northeast Duals. The Bulls will matchup against Lock Haven, Springfield and West Virginia at the Northeast Duals.
November will conclude with the NY State Collegiate Championships at Cornell on Nov. 22. All the best teams in the state will be in attendance for the tournament that kicks off at 9:00 am.
As December hits, the Bulls will only be home for one dual, on Friday, Dec. 11 against Gardner Webb. The Bulls will travel to Eastern Michigan on Dec. 6 for their first Mid-American Conference dual of the season before traveling to Kent State on Dec. 13 and Clarion on Dec. 19.
UB will head to the Midland Championships, hosted by Northwestern, on Dec. 29-30 to take part in one of the toughest tournaments in all of college wrestling. After the new year, the Bulls dual meet slate kicks into high gear as they travel to perennial power Missouri for a match on Jan. 8.
On Jan. 16, the Bulls will compete in a pair of duals in different cities as they travel to New York City for a matchup with Columbia at 12:00 pm before heading to Fairfield, CT for a match against Sacred Heart at 7:00 pm.
Buffalo will close out January with two home duals as they play host to MAC foe Old Dominion on Friday, Jan. 22 at 7:00 pm and Ohio on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 2:00 pm. February opens up with the Bulls final road dual of the season as they will travel to Central Michigan for a showdown with the Chippewas on Feb. 7.
The regular season slate comes to a close in February with three straight home duals for the Bulls. On Feb. 12 the Bulls will welcome local foe Binghamton to Alumni Arena for a 7:00 pm dual before hosting MAC foe Northern Illinois on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 2:00 pm. UB will host Northern Iowa on Feb. 19 at 7:00 pm in their regular season finale.
The MAC Championships, which are being held at Eastern Michigan, will take place on March 5-6 while the NCAA Championships are being held at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Mar. 17-19.
The Bulls have one of the youngest teams in the country as their roster consists of 30 underclassmen. With the talent and attitude that is place in the program, the Bulls set their sights on making noise at the MAC Championships and sending multiple grapplers to the national tournament.
