Bulls Meet Chippewas With MAC Title On The Line Saturday Night

CLEVELAND, OH - UB heads to the MAC Championship game for the third time in school history on Saturday evening as the second-seeded Bulls take on the top-seeded, Central Michigan Chippewas. CMU won both meetings during the regular season. The winner will claim the MAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
UB, who is looking for their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament, defeated Akron on Friday night, 68-59. The Bulls were led by senior Xavier Ford, who had his fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds. MAC Player of the Year Justin Moss leads the team at 17.9 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Sophomore Shannon Evans is second on the team at 15.3 points per game.
Central Michigan defeated Toledo, 75-66 in their semifinal game to advance to their first Championship game since 2003. The Chippewas are led by first-team All-MAC guard Chris Fowler, who is averaging 15.7 points and 6.0 assists per game. John Simons is second on the team at 12.5 points per contest.
This is the fourth time that Buffalo and Central Michigan will meet in the MAC Tournament. UB has won the last two tournament meetings (2011,2013). CMU defeated UB in 2007. Overall , UB and CMU are 14-14 in 28 all-time meetings.
