
Bulls Meet Akron In MAC Semifinals Friday Night

CLEVELAND, OH - The Bulls open Mid-American Conference Tournament play in the Semifinals on Friday night after claiming the number two seed in the tournament, tied for its highest finish ever. The Bulls will face number seven seed, Akron, who has won three straight games already in the MAC Tournament, including last night vs. #3 Kent State The winner will advance to Saturday night's MAC Championship Game.
UB, which finished the regular season with a 21-9 record and a 12-6 mark in conference play, is being led by MAC Player of the Year Justin Moss, who is averaging 18.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, both tops in the league. Moss was also selected to the All-MAC First Team. Sophomore Shannon Evans, who was named to the All-MAC Second Team is averaging 15.3 points per game and leads the Bulls with 143 assists.
Akron is led by center Pat Forsythe, who is averaging 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Deji Ibitayo is second on the team in scoring at 9.9 points per game and has started the last three contests after coming off the bench.
The two teams split their season series this year, with both squads winning at home. This will be just the second time that UB and Akron meet in the MAC Tournament and the first since the 2009 Championship game.
