BUFFALO, NY - Two of the top teams in the MAC East will meet in a crucial divisional matchup on Saturday evening when the Bulls visit the Zips. The Bulls have won three in a row, while Akron is looking to get back into the win column after a loss on Wednesday night.
UB is 15-6 on the season and 6-3 in MAC play following an 82-78 win at Ball State. The Bulls are led by Justin Moss, who leads the Bulls and the MAC at 18.2 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per contest. Sophomore Shannon Evans is coming off a 25-point game in his last outing and he averages 15.4 points per game. The Bulls have seven players averaging at least 6.0 points per game.
Akron had a three-game winning streak snapped at Ohio Wednesday night, 83-82. The Zips are led by big man Pat Forsythe, who is averaging 10.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Deiji Ibitayo is second on the team at 10.1 points per contest and Noah Robotham adds 9.7 points per game.
Akron leads the all-time series, 27-23, as the two teams split their meetings last year, both winning at home. UB is looking for its first win at Akron since the 2011-12 season. The Bulls have won the last five meetings at Alumni Arena.
