
Women's Rowing Signs Three to National Letters of Intent

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo, the State University of New York women's rowing head coach Sandy Calfo announced on Tuesday that three student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to compete on the rowing team beginning in the fall of 2016. The class consists of Bailey Brugger, Abbie Albright and Natalie Howk.
Brugger hails from Margate, NJ where she attends Atlantic City High School. In 2015, her JV4 boat finished first at the Atlantic County Championships; second at the Garden State Scholastic Championships and fourth at both the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) National Championships and the Stotesbury Cup Regatta. She also posted a first place finish at the 2014 Garden State Scholastic Championships as a member of the Second 8 boat.
Albright is from Greenfield Center, NY where she goes to Saratoga Springs High School. As a member of the Women's Youth 8, her boat finished sixth out of 85 at the Head of the Charles in 2015. Her Junior 4+ boat won the silver medal at the 2015 SRAA National Championships and her Second Varsity 8 boat took the gold at the 2014 SRAA National Championships.
Howk, a teammate of Albright, also goes to Saratoga Springs High School. Like Albright she won the silver medal in the Junior 4+ at the 2015 SRAA National Championships and the gold medal in the Second Varsity 8 race at the 2014 SRAA Nationals. She also won the gold medal in the Second Varsity 8 at the 2014 New York State Championships.
The UB women's rowing team has concluded fall competition and will resume in the spring beginning at the Murphy Cup on March 26.
