
Bulls Return to the Hardwood Saturday at Eastern Michigan

UB at Eastern Michigan Game Notes
YPSILANTI, MI – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York women's basketball team will travel to Eastern Michigan for a 2:30 pm Mid-American Conference game Saturday at the Convocation Center.
Though the Eagles lead the all-time series, 13-7, the Bulls have won three of the last four and were victorious in three of the first four games played. UB won the inaugural contest 90-66 in the UB Tournament on Dec. 3, 1993. The Bulls defeated EMU, 84-83, in overtime last January at Alumni Arena. Mackenzie Loesing tallied a team-best 26 points, while Kristen Sharkey and Christa Baccas each posted double-doubles.
Looking to even their conference record, the Bulls (10-8, 3-4 MAC) have a field goal percentage of .352 and a free throw percentage of .666. UB, who leads the MAC in three-point field goal defense, offensive rebounds per game, rebounding offense and steals, is averaging 63.3 points and 43.6 boards per game. Sharkey paces UB with 13.5 points per game to go with 8.0 boards and 32 steals, while shooting a team-best .789 from the charity stripe. Loesing is averaging 13.1 points per game and has 24 threes on the year. Sophomore Alexus Malone is posting 11.1 points and 8.2 rebounds a contest. She has six double-doubles and leads UB with 36 assists and 33 steals. Baccas is contributing 7.9 points per game to help guide the balanced UB offense. She pulls down a Bull-best 8.6 boards per contest, highlighted by a MAC-high 3.9 offensive boards per game. Ranking second all-time at UB and 13th nationally among active Division I student-athletes with 221 blocks, Baccas has 33 to lead the conference this season. Sophomore Camera Miley has dished out 31 assists.
The Eagles (10-8, 3-4 MAC) have won three of their last four after opening MAC play with three consecutive losses. Eastern's three conference wins have come against Bowling Green, Miami (OH) and Toledo. The Eagles suffered an 83-56 setback at Western Michigan Wednesday. EMU is outscoring opponents, 68.1-63.8, and outrebounding opponents, 43.6-41.6. The Eagles are shooting .387 from the floor, .279 from the arc and .670 from the line.
