Bulls Announce Upcoming Football Series with Nevada and Florida Atlantic

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo Director of Athletics Danny White announced on Thursday that the Bulls have signed a contract for a home-and-home series with both Nevada and Florida Atlantic beginning in the 2015 season. The Bulls will host Nevada on Sept. 26, 2015 and travel to Reno on Sept. 17, 2016. UB will play at Florida Atlantic on Sept. 19, 2015. The Owls will return the game on Sept. 23, 2017.
When the Bulls host Nevada, it will be a homecoming for Wolfpack head coach Brian Polian who was on the Bulls coaching staff in 1998 as well as from 2001-03. Polian, son of former Buffalo Bills general manager Bill Polian, grew up in Buffalo and graduated from St. Francis High School. In addition, Jim Hofher, UB's head coach from 2001-05, serves as Nevada's assistant head coach and oversees the wide receivers. UB and Nevada met once before in 2004. The Wolfpack won the game, 38-13.
The series with Florida Atlantic will mark the first meeting between the Bulls and Owls. Florida Atlantic is a member of Conference USA and is coached by Charlie Partridge.
"We are excited to add a home-and-home series with Nevada and Florida Atlantic to our schedule," White said. "We have strong alumni bases on the west coast as well as in Florida and this will give our fans in those regions an opportunity to see the Bulls compete."
The Bulls open the 2014 season at home against Duquesne on Aug 30. Season tickets are available at the UB ticket office, by calling 1-877-UB-THERE or at www.ubbulls.com.
