BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo wrestling team has landed the 18th ranked recruiting class in the nation according to TheOpenMat.com, as announced last week. The Bulls, whose recruiting class is ranked second among MAC conference foes, will welcome a slew of talented grapplers from all across the country to the roster for the 2014-15 season.
Two Mid-American Conference teams made the list, as Old Dominion was the highest ranked team at 13 while the Bulls found themselves just inside the top-20 at 18. The 19-man recruiting class is the first class at UB for head coach John Stutzman.
"This is another positive step for our program," stated head coach John Stutzman. "At the beginning of this recruiting process we set a goal of securing a national ranked recruiting class and we have accomplished that. As a staff we are excited for the future of UB wrestling."
The 2014-15 class features standout high school grapplers from five different states who have combined for 58 State Championship appearances, 40 State medals and four State Championships. This nationally recognized recruiting class will add talent and depth a Bulls squad that tripled their win output from a season ago and had one grappler qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
