
Estevez Takes 5th Place At FILA Junior Championships

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo wrestler Jason Estevez took home fifth place and was recognized as an All-American for his efforts at the FILA Junior National Wrestling Championships this past weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The FILA Junior age group included athletes between the ages of 17 and 20, featuring some of the country's top high school athletes and college underclassmen wrestlers from around the country.
Estevez participated in the freestyle tournament at 63 KG (138 pounds) for the Bulls. Estevez was able to earn All-American honors with a win in the fifth place match over Gabe Grahek of Wisconsin wrestling by decision, 7-0.
Two other current Bulls participated in the event but they were unable to place as Rrok Ndokaj and Joe Ariola both appeared in the tournament that was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
